DEEPA MALIK ACHIEVEMENTS Deepa Malik is the first Indian woman to win a medal in Paralympics (Olympics), a silver medal in 2016 Summer Paralympics and also made big records in swimming and motorsports which are registered in Limca Book of World Records , not only once she has registered her name twice in swimming for 1km in the Yamuna river. Apart from these her participation and medals are also considered as big achievements. DEEPA MALIK - AN INSPIRATION Deepa Malik is a Paralympian and known as the first Indian woman to be a medalist in Summer Paralympics, 2016. She is a 3 game player- shotput, javelin throw, and discus throw but won a silver medal in shot put in the Paralympics. Deepa Malik, known for her achievements and records had so much struggle in her life. The struggle has inspired so many youths and became the role model for all physically challenged persons. DEEPA MALIK Life Story Deepa Malik's life is been full of struggle, born on 30th Sept 1970, she has suffered from the disease spinal tumor at the age of 6 years and recovered it in 3 years. Not only her, her father also had a struggle with her by taking her on his shoulder and visiting the hospitals. Her father supported her throughout his life and made her to be the pride of India. She recovered at the age of 9 but again messed with this disease at the age of 29 and now it’s been a big tumor which made her have major surgeries and operations and gone through 31 operations for which 183 stitches were placed between her waist and leg. During her operation, her husband was fighting for his country in Kargil War and she was only one who was managing herself and her children and made herself come on the wheelchair, a journey from a walking legs to numb legs. She was paralyzed from her waist down and it’s been 20 years in the wheelchair. She

DEEPA MALIK- BIOGRAPHY Deepa Malik, an Indian athlete born in Sonipat, Haryana, and lives in Gurgaon.  She has made a name in the Paralympics and known as the first Indian to win a medal in the Paralympics, a silver medal which is the first-ever won by any Indian in shot put in Summer Paralympics, 2016. She first tried to participate in the Paralympics in 2012 but due to some politics, she can’t participate in it but she has received the Arjuna award, one of the biggest awards in the sports person's life.
