DEEPA MALIK

Life Story

Deepa Malik's life is been full of struggle, born on 30th Sept 1970, she
has suffered from the disease spinal tumor at the age of 6 years and
recovered it in 3 years. Not only her, her father also had a struggle with
her by taking her on his shoulder and visiting the hospitals. Her father
supported her throughout his life and made her to be the pride of India.

She recovered at the age of 9 but again messed with this disease at the
age of 29 and now it’s been a big tumor which made her have major
surgeries and operations and gone through 31 operations for which 183
stitches were placed between her waist and leg.

During her operation, her husband was fighting for his country in Kargil
War and she was only one who was managing herself and her children
and made herself come on the wheelchair, a journey from a walking legs
to numb legs. She was paralyzed from her waist down and it’s been 20
years in the wheelchair.

She has 2 daughters whom she had always taken care of and has done
the best upbringing she can. Her older daughter has already started her
career and is going on the paths of her mother and it can be expected
that she will break the records of her mother and make her nation and her
mother full of pride.

Recently Deepa Malik has joined BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) and
looking further for serving the country. She has stepped in politics and it is
believed that she will continue to serve her country.

Hard Working

Paralympian Deepa Malik, known for her achievements has struggled a
lot in her life. Her achievements tell purely about her struggling life.  Her
behavior, her attitude, her happiness, her smiling face, her calmness, her
patriotism, her passion, her knowledge, her dedication, her focus on
goals made take her towards success.

Her hard-working nature, desperation towards success made her to
achieve her goals in her life. She is never demotivated nor depressed in
any situation, her thoughts and actions made her successful.

Life Struggle

Struggle in her life has never been less as at 29 years of age she got a
disease and with the completion of 31 operations and 183 stitches she
got paralyzed from her waist down. During her operations, her husband
was fighting in Kargil war for his country and she herself managed her 2
children but after operation her life becomes more difficult because of
sticking to the wheelchair.

Her husband was an army officer and because of that, she herself
managed to care for her children with practicing her sports. Managing
herself, her children and her sports is not an easy task, she has all these
done by himself only with a very well upbringing of her children.

She has again struggled for Paralympics as she has tried for the 2012
Summer Paralympics but can’t go due to some Indian politics but in that
year she was awarded Arjuna Award and made her feel honored.

She was still not satisfied with Arjuna Award and waited for 4 years to
participate in the 2016 Summer Paralympics. She represented India and
won a silver medal by practicing at a very hard level.
